<Industry Name> Companies

This section provides overview information, performance data, news about, and ratings on companies within a selected industry. If you select a company within the list, you go to the Stocks Overview page for that stock (jump to the stocks overview page).

The Overview tab provides the following information for each company within the selected industry:

• Market Cap

The market value of all of a company's outstanding shares. You calculate market capitalization by multiplying a company's outstanding shares by the current market price of one share.

• P/E Ratio (TTM) Trailing Twelve Month

A ratio of a company's current share price compared to its per share earnings. The P/E ration is calculated as: market value per share divided by earnings per share (EPS).

• EPS Growth (5yr)

The portion of a company's profit that is allocated to each outstanding share of common stock. Serves as a indicator of a company's profitability and is calculated as the Net Income minus the Dividends on Preferred Stock divided by the Average Outstanding Shares.

The Performance tab displays price performance data for Today, 1 Month, 1 Year, and Total Return over 5 Years.

Red text indicates a loss over the specified period of time, green text indicates a gain. Grey text indicates no change. Click the Next link or the number at the bottom of the module to see additional companies within the industry.

The News tab provides news about a specific company. You can mouse over the news headline to display the first few sentences from the news article. If you click on the headline, you will go to the Stocks News page (will provide a jump to that page) and display the article. Articles are listed from the most recent first to the oldest. The colour of the text beside the headline indicates the age of the article. Orange text means the article is less than 24 hours old, while grey text means the article is at least 24 hours old. The names of other companies mentioned in the article are displayed below the article time stamp.

The Ratings tab displays analyst’s ratings for the companies within the selected industry. The ratings are provided by First Call Consensus and S&P.

One to five stars, one being the worst and five being the top rating.

Ratings: Strong Buy, Buy, Hold, Underperform, Sell

You can sort results by column. Clicking on the company name takes you to the Stocks Overview page for that company (will provide a link here). Click the Next link or the number at the bottom of the module to see additional companies within the industry.
